#808080;\">The Pasteur Network Annual Meeting (PNAM) 2025, co-organized with the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, took place from October 21\u201324 in the dynamic city of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e8331b2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e8331b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This flagship event has convened leaders, researchers, and public health experts from across the Pasteur Network and beyond, offering a platform to address today\u2019s most pressing global health challenges.<\/p><p>A central focus of PNAM 2025 has been the \u201c40 Under 40\u201d initiative, which highlighted 40 emerging researchers under the age of 40 from across the Pasteur Network.<\/p><p>These young scientists led six plenary sessions, showcasing their contributions to infectious disease research, public health innovation, and global collaboration.<\/p><p>Enrico Palermo, our researcher under 40 at Istituto Pasteur Italia \u2013 Cenci Bolognetti Foundation, presented his project entitled &#8220;Metabolic regulation of antiviral innate immunity to Dengue virus infection\u201d. Enrico investigates the molecular processes of the type I interferon response to viral infections and viral immune evasion strategies. His current research focuses on how the modulation of cellular metabolism affects the antiviral response to Dengue virus (DENV) infection. He found that the metabolite 4-octyl-itaconate (4-OI) impairs type I IFN response and increases DENV replication by triggering a metabolic switch from glycolysis to \u03b2-oxidation.
