Scientific interests

Investigate the role of innate and adaptive immunity in glioma progression and the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the glial phenotype in brain disorders.

Contribution to Science

I)Identification of the role of Ca2+ activated K+ channels (KCa3.1) in cell migration, invasion and proliferation of malignant glioma and in modulating phenotype of glioma associated microglia/macrophage cells.

II) Identification of the role of voltage-gated potassium channel Kv1.3 in modulating inflammation and mitochondrial degeneration in mutant SOD1 mice.

III) Identification of the role of microbiota composition in modulate brain innate immune cell state in physiological and glioma context.
