Alessandra Zevini

Alessandra obtained her PhD in Biology and Molecular Medicine at Sapienza University. For her Master’s thesis, she identified and analyzed the role of a previously unknown phosphodiesterase variant in cardiac muscle under physiopathological conditions. For her studies, she employed the FRET technique, among others. Now a postdoc at the Pasteur Institute in Rome, she is working on the development of innovative therapies to fight tumors, using new compounds that stimulate antiviral recognition pathways to kill cancer cells while simultaneously activating the immune system. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities with her tireless dog Lucy, but also has fun with puzzles, psychological quizzes, and thrillers.
