Always attracted to the study of science, a degree in Health Biology was the natural choice to satisfy her aspirations and interests. After graduating from the University of Padua, she completed her PhD at the same university. During the final year of her doctorate, she had the opportunity to work in a research laboratory at New York University, where she remained for 7 years, focusing on cancer research. After her long experience in New York, she returned to Italy and began working at the Pasteur Institute. Here she is involved in identifying new genes implicated in the resistance of certain aggressive tumor forms to oncolytic virus therapies. These therapeutic strategies aim to specifically target and eliminate cancer cells, leaving healthy cells intact, and to develop an immune response against the tumor.
